Sessions are $175 for 50 minutes. Many extended health insurance plans cover psychotherapy, check with your provider to confirm your coverage amount before your first session.
Yes, both options are available. In-person sessions are held at my Ottawa office at 1900 City Park Dr, Suite 328. Virtual sessions are available to anyone in Ontario. You choose whatever format works best for your life.
I offer sessions Tuesday through Friday, with availability varying by day. Some mornings, some afternoons. The best way to see current availability is through the online booking page, which is always up to date. You can also reach me at janelle@innerjourneypsychotherapy.ca or 873-660-0533 with any questions.
It depends on what you're working on. For eating disorder treatment, I use the CBT-E model, which typically runs about 20 sessions. For other concerns, we discuss your goals together and build a plan that fits your needs. Some people benefit from short-term focused work, others prefer ongoing support.
Most clients start weekly or biweekly, especially at the beginning when there's a lot to explore and unpack. Frequency can always be adjusted over time based on how things are going and what feels right for you.
Yes, I work with children ages 7 and up, as well as teens and adults. I use age-appropriate, play-informed approaches with younger clients and always encourage parent involvement while respecting the child's right to confidentiality.
Yes. I'm fully bilingual and offer psychotherapy in both English and French. You're welcome to switch languages or book your first session in whichever language feels most comfortable.
The first session is about getting to know each other. We'll talk about what brought you in, what you're hoping to work on, and start building the foundation of a good working relationship. There's no pressure to have everything figured out, we work through it together.
That's a completely valid concern, and it's exactly why I offer a free 15-minute consultation before booking. Not every therapist is the right match for every person, and that's okay. The consultation is a low-pressure way to see if working together feels right before committing to anything.
I ask for at least 48 hours notice to cancel or reschedule at no charge. Cancellations between 48 and 24 hours before the appointment are charged 50%, and cancellations within 24 hours are charged in full, as that time was reserved specifically for you. You can manage your appointments through the Jane App or by contacting me directly.
